Lisa keeps many secrets of both spiritual and non-spiritual things that happen in the novel.
Some of the secrets are small, such as her sighting of b'gwus crossing the road, while others are big, like the little man.
Some secrets belong to others, for instance, the time that she saw Uncle Mick kiss her mom's neck.
Some she tells to other characters, like her gift of seeing ghosts; some, like when Cheese rapes her, are uncovered by the characters close to her; and some, such as her death sending from Tab are never told to other characters.
She is also continually trying to make sense of others by deciphering the secrets of those around her, for instance, Mick's past romances and Josh's history as a sexually abused child and present sexual tendancies.
Lisa's dreams help unravel some of the secrets, but they are always confusing and never straightforward.
